IT'S ABOUT JK'S BO LO BAO

'Bo Lo Bao', a must eat by JK whenever she visits HK, she wrote. So when I met her darling bo lo bao this afternoon, I just grabbed it without second thought. What is good about bo lo bao?? How tasty?? What's the inner beauty she mentioned?? I wanna know.....

Let me have a bite...............EMMMmmmm....DELICIOUS!!! Rated 4+!!!

Now, please, allow me to further illustrate JK's bo lo bao. Here we go....



Look at the golden checkered skin....it looked like pineapple skin. So it's being called bo lo bao, pineapple bun in Cantonese. The sugary 'pineapple skin' was a thin crust made of sugar, eggs, flour and lard (but I think our local bakery is using butter), as written in Wikipedia. The taste was....有点甜甜的, 充满了奶油滋味, 还有一丝丝幸福的香气. Haha! A little over, ya...



The moment you bite it....now, feel the softness and sponginess underneath the crust with your full heart.....


It's more than a plain bread though it's really 'kosong' and nothing found in there. The dough was sweetened (just a little) though....and that was a perfect match with the sugary crust on top.

Just one bite...and you will feel the happiness, am I not correct, JK?

    yup, one bite and i'm in heaven. but hor, u must eat the one in HK. it doesn't taste like roti kosong at all. And my fav version is with a pc of one inch high butter *droooollll*

  3. the one JK mentioned is called bo lo you, rite? Ok! Tracy, I am ever ready. When are we going? I need a breakkkkkk...!!!!!!!!! But food journey...sounds scary...hahahhaha....
